 10,115 beneficiaries registered under NDLM

The registrations have been carried out from the States of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala and Karnataka.

A total of 10,115 beneficiaries have been registered till December 2014 for training under Level 1 of National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM), with support from the government.

The registrations have been carried out from the States of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala and Karnataka. The highest numbers of 5571 registrations have been carried out from Maharashtra, followed by Jharkhand (2755) and Chhattisgarh (1789).

The IT Mass Literacy scheme aims to impart digital literacy to 10 lakh persons, one eligible member from each household, in select districts/blocks across all the states of the country so as to enable them to effectively participate in the democratic process and enhance their livelihood. The programme is being implemented through the CSCs, NIELIT centres, Adult Literacy Centres under MHRD, IGNOU centres, NGOs involved in IT literacy, Rural Self- Employment Training Institutes, and companies with CSR provisions.




 


 NDLM workshop held in Sikkim


The CSC e-Governance Services India Limited (CSC SPV) in partnership with Department of Information Technology, Government of Sikkim organised a workshop in Gangtok, Sikkim on January 5, 2015. Fifteen VLEs attended the workshop, where they were informed about the Scheme for IT Mass Literacy. They were also provided training on conducting of the household surveys and training of beneficiaries thereafter. The welcome address was given by NIELIT Centre in-charge Mr. K. Sharma.

CSC SPV state representative briefed the VLEs on the details of the scheme, implementation process and timelines of the project, etc. Android based Tablets, installed with household survey application, were also distributed at the workshop. The project will be implemented in two districts of the state, South and West Sikkim.
