 GIIT sets up new NDLM centre in Udaipur

NDLM Training Partner Global Institute of Information Technology (GIIT) has started a new DISHA training centre for training general beneficiaries, Anganwadi, ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers in Salumber in Udaipur district of Rajasthan.

As of now, 29 Anganwadi workers, three ASHA workers and 17 general beneficiaries are successfully undergoing training at the centre, which was inaugurated on May 27, 2015. Centre Director Mr. Deepak Saini informed that a well qualified faculty has been put in place for training the beneficiaries. More beneficiaries are expected to join the training as their registration is being carried out at the centre currently.

Apart from the Udaipur centre, GIIT is running another centre in Dungarpur district in Rajasthan.


 Orientation meeting for ASHA workers in Ramtek taluk, Nagpur

An orientation meeting on DISHA was held for ASHA workers at the Primary Health Centre at Mansar in Ramtek taluk, Nagpur district of Maharashtra on May 28, 2015. The meeting, conducted by VLE Ganesh Lanjewar, was attended by 25 ASHA workers and Medical Officer Mr. Choudhary.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Choudhary stressed on the importance of digital literacy training being provided by the government. He asked the ASHA workers to enroll for the course and spread the word among their colleagues. Ramtek taluk has around 192 functional ASHA workers. A similar meeting was held for ASHA workers on May 12 at Hiwara Bazar Primary Health Centre.

Apart from ASHA workers, VLE Ganesh has also been targetting Anganwadi workers through various meetings at the CDPO offices in various areas of the taluk. In a meeting at CDPO office in Kamthi on June 2, he mobilized around 35 Anganwadi workers for enrolment in DISHA. So far, he has conducted five such meetings in the last one month.
