 Computer labs of schools to be utilized for training under NDLM

The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, has instructed all State Education Secretaries to allow use of Computer Labs in schools for undertaking the Digital Literacy training after school hours.

Computer labs in schools across the country will be used for training under NDLM. An instruction has been issued by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to all State Education Secretaries to allow the use of Computer Labs in schools for undertaking the Digital Literacy training after school hours.

It has been proposed to utilize computer labs installed in schools under the ICT @ School scheme by leveraging these computer labs for training individuals in the adjoining villages and for conduct of exams under NDLM. The State Government/ UT Administration may consider allowing the use of the computer labs in the schools for the training and examination after school hours.

The NDLM project aims to provide IT Training to 52.5 lakh persons in every eligible household in selected blocks in each State/ UT. The objective is to impart basic ICT skills relevant to the need of the trainee, which would enable the citizen to use IT and related applications and participate actively in the democratic process and further enhance opportunities for their livelihood.



 


 Workshop on NDLM held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

The CSC e-Governance Services India Limited (CSC SPV) organized a workshop on December 17, 2014 on the process of conducting household survey under the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM). The workshop was held in Chota Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

State Representatives from CSC-SPV explained the NDLM scheme to the participants. While CSC representative from Central team briefed about NDLM Phase-I and also the procedure for conducting the household survey through tablets.
