  Workshop held in Meghalaya on NDLM

A total of 15 VLEs from the districts of West Garo Hills, West Jantia Hills and West Khasi Hills attended the workshop.

CSC SPV in partnership with Department of Information Technology, Government of Meghalaya organized a workshop in Shillong, Meghalaya on October 14, 2014. The key objective of the workshop was to inform the VLEs about the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) and prepare them for conducting household surveys and training of beneficiaries thereafter.

Shri Debertgill Dkhar, Jr. Informatics Officer was the Chief Guest at the Workshop. A total of 15 VLEs from the districts of West Garo Hills, West Jantia Hills and West Khasi Hills attended the workshop. The VLEs were excited and interactive and also shared their views about the NDLM scheme.

Mr. Genuine Matgrik K. Snagma, VLE from West Garo Hills, said, “This is a very good initiative by CSC-SPV. I am very happy about the scheme as it will help the rural people increase their monthly income.”

Mr. Thomlin Nongpoh, from West Jaintia Hills was very thankful to the State Government and CSC-SPV for introducing a scheme like this to be offered through the CSCs.

He said, “The course content of this scheme is really very good and it will help Meghalaya’s rural people become IT Literate and eventually will help India in becoming Digitally Literate.”

The key objective of the workshop is to brief the VLEs and other representatives about the NDLM project and show them a demo on how to use the Survey Application through Tablets for conducting the Household Survey.

  Results declared for examination conducted under NDLM

The results of Phase-I examination under NDLM have been declared by NIELIT. The first batch of examination under the NDLM was conducted on September 30 and October 1, 2014.

Over 303 beneficiaries appeared for the examination in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra and Rangareddy district of Andhra Pradesh. The examination was conducted by NIELIT, the national certifying agency identified to assess the students under NDLM.
