 CHiPS to implement NDLM in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh infotech & Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) has been appointed as the State Implementing Agency for the NDLM in the State. Under the Scheme, 20,000 people will be trained on two levels of basic IT skills throughout the State.

Chhattisgarh infotech & Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) has been appointed as the State Implementing Agency for the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) scheme in Chhattisgarh.

Under the MoU, signed on January 3, 2015 in Raipur, CHiPS will implement and monitor the Scheme over a period of 18 months in the State.

Following the agreement, CHiPS has identified five districts and blocks for implementation of the IT Mass Literacy scheme in the State: Rajnandgaon district (Rajnandgaon block); Kabirdham (Kawardha); Baloda Bazaar (Bilaigarh); Raipur (Tilda); and Bemetara (Berla).

Under the Scheme, 20,000 people will be trained on two levels of basic IT skills throughout the State. Of them, 14,000 will be trained in Level 1 and 6000 in Level 2, which will enable them to use IT and related applications for participating effectively in democratic process of the country as well as enhancing their livelihood. The beneficiaries will be selected from every eligible household in the five selected districts and blocks, while preference will be given to women.


 


 Meeting with Sahaspur VLEs to speed up NDLM survey

The meeting was attended by six VLEs, who are conducting the survey in the Block. Apart from attending to issues being faced by VLEs, Gram Panchayats under the Block were also distributed among them.

A CSC SPV team visited Selaqui village on January 14, 2015 to discuss the technical issues arising out of the ongoing NDLM survey in Sahaspur block, Dehradun, Uttaranchal with the VLEs.

The meeting was attended by six VLEs, who are conducting the survey in the Block. Apart from attending to issues being faced by VLEs, Gram Panchayats under the Block were also distributed among them. The VLEs showed enthusiasm about the survey work and assured their wholehearted effort towards its’ timely completion.

The CSC team led by the State Coordinator, along with Central Bank of India officials visited the centre of VLE Ms. Anuradha at Abdullapur for setting up technical infrastructure to turn it into a Business Correspondent (BC) centre. Through a BC centre, a VLE can become the bank’s branch and provide select banking services online.
