  DeitY envisages SIOs and CSC SPV to work together

State Information Officers of NIC will be actively involved in implementation of CSC Scheme in coordination with District e-Governance Societies.


A one day workshop cum discussion with State Informatics Officers of NIC was organised by CSC in New Delhi on May 28, 2015. Present at the workshop were SIOs from all over the country; Mr. Pravin Chandekar, Director, DeitY; Dr. Dinesh Tyagi, CEO, CSC SPV; and other officials from CSC SPV.

Dr. Tyagi, gave the inaugural speech welcoming all the officials present at the conference. He explained the role of SIO in helping the society at large through their coordination with district e-Governance societies.

The objective of the workshop was to enable the SIOs in better understanding the CSC model, to enable them to create CSCs at panchayat level, and the making them aware about various services being delivered through CSC like Digitize India, CSC 2.0, NDLM, Integration of G2C services for delivery through Common Service Centers, Digital Locker, UIDAI based E KYC & Authentication, Aadhar Seeding into Govt. department databases, Jeevan Pramaan, etc.

A healthy discussion took place between Dr. Tyagi and the state information officers regarding various services being delivered in their respective states. SIOs from Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Gujarat and Odisha shared success stories of e-governance in their states, and challenges faced in implementation of the CSC scheme.
