  CSC Diwas Celebrated across the Nation

VLEs across the nation celebrated CSC Diwas with much fanfare. These celebrations would go on from 16th July till 20th July with one day each dedicated to various services like Financial Inclusion, Digital Literacy, E-health, GST and various other services.

VLEs engaged on massive outreach programme on Digital Literacy, GST, Digital Payments, Telemedicine, Banking and Insurance and other services available through CSC. Many of the CSC engaged painting competition for children. VLEs across the country enabled community participation and collective action for engendering social change educating villagers about the CSC LED and Solar initiative, Skill development and PMGDISHA.

The Schedule for these celebrations is as under -

DAY 1 (JULY 16): FINANCIAL INCLUSION DAY
DAY 2 (JULY 17): DIGITAL SAKSHARTA DAY /
DAY 3 (JULY 18): TELEMEDICINE DAY
DAY 4 (JULY 19): GST AWARENESS DAY
DAY 5 (JULY 20): CSC SERVICES AWARENESS DAY

 HONOURABLE MINISTER FOR ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, LAW & JUSTICE SHRI RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD, BRIEFS THE VLES AT THE AADHAAR WORKSHOP AT INDIA HABITAT CENTRE, NEW DELHI

Hon’ble minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad appreciated the efforts of the enterprising VLEs in providing key services at the grassroots level.

The Hon’ Minister said, “I have great expectation from CSC VLEs. Our VLEs are change makers of India. CSCs have given employment to 10 lakh people in India. I am confident that in near future, one crore people will work in CSCs.”

Recounting the strength of VLEs in mobilizing citizens under Government campaigns, the Hon’ Minister said: “I am happy to note that the VLEs have trained 2 crore people in the Cashless India movement.”  “Recently, Union Textile Minister Smt. Smriti Irani sought the support of VLEs in the expansion of handloom. All the departments of the government want to involve VLEs for their services,” he said.

He added, “Aadhaar is an effective instrument in removing corruption. We have saved Rs. 50,000 Crore by removing corruption.” He expressed the hope that the VLEs would rise to the occasion and help the government in making India corruption-free.
