CSC has partnered with National Jute board and Indian Jute Mills Association to conduct awareness sessions on DFIAA for jute mill workers

CSC SPV has partnered with National Jute board and Indian Jute Mills Association to conduct awareness sessions on digital financial services for jute mill workers. A meeting in this regard was held on December 9 between the Jute Commissioner and CSC SPV West Bengal representatives for conducting awareness sessions for jute mill workers as well as enabling digital financial services or them, including Bank accounts. A two day master training session on DigiDhan Abhiyan is being held on December 15 and 16 for close to 90 managers of various jute mills of West Bengal at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce premises, where they are being made aware of DigiDhan Abhiyan and various options under digital finance services. Subsequently, digital finance training will be conducted for workers at the Mill premises in two shifts across locations.

Around 82 Jute Mills with 280,000 employees are participating in this initiative, of which 73 are in West Bengal and rest in Assam, Bihar and Jharkhand. Apart from conducting awareness sessions, CSCs will also be set up in each of the Jute Mills so that the workers can avail all online services, particularly financial services through them as these CSCs will also function as BCs of Allahabad Bank. Around 20 percent of the workers do not have access to banking services, so bank accounts with ATM/Debit Cards will be opened for them, apart from linking their Bank accounts with Aadhaar.
