
The State Bank of India (SBI) is conducting an Aadhaar Seeding campaign from May 15 – July 31, 2016. All SBI Business Correspondent Agents (BCAs) are instructed to seed as many bank accounts of customers with their Aadhaar number for seamless benefits. During this campaign, SBI will pay an increased BCA remuneration from Rs. 5 per to Rs. 10 per account.
Benefits of linking Aadhaar to the Bank account:
- Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) - LPG cylinder subsidy amount is directly credited in the Aadhaar-linked bank account after the LPG consumer number is linked.
- Subsidy for commodity products - The subsidy for various commodity products such as kerosene, sugar, rice, pulses and other products whose prizes are subsidized are also transferred to the linked account.
- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) - Wages under this scheme will also be credited directly to the bank account of the workers.
- Tribal welfare schemes - Payments from these schemes will also be credited to the linked account.
- Scholarship - Students will receive the government scholarship only in the bank account which is linked to their Aadhaar number.
- Country wide access - Linked accounts are accessible from any place within India and in future, consumers will be able to access via ATMs too.
Banking Correspondent Agents (BCAs) of all the Banks are advised to get themselves registered on the Banking portal http://164.100.115.10/banking/ .
If the BCAs do not get themselves registered on the Banking portal, the KO Code (Kiosk Operating Code) of the BCA will be deactivated and they will not be able to see their commission on the Banking portal.
