The often neglected poor from rural India require awareness on savings and investment, which provides them an opportunity to safeguard their hard earned money. Taking this into account Investor awareness programs were conducted in nine states namely Assam, Bihar, Haryana, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkahnd and Uttar Pradesh covering 2000 sessions during previous year.
Taking this forward, currently refresher training sessions are carried out in the above states with an aim to review, reinforce and upgrade participant’s existing knowledge and skills on safer options of investment and savings.
Thus the overall objective of the project is:
- To review, reinforce and upgrade citizens existing knowledge and skills which they gained from the previous session.
- To support the citizens in availing financial products and services.
- To insulate citizens from the trap of unauthorized and illegal/traditional financial activities
During the sessions VLEs also invite MP, MLAs, MLCs, Zila Parishad, Panchayat Officials and Bank representatives.
At present 8487 participants have been trained through refresher training.
