 NIOS admissions and examination registrations now open

Students in rural areas, who have dropped out of regular education system but still want to pursue their studies, can now do so by taking admission with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Admissions to NIOS Stream 1, Block 1 (April 2016 examination) are now open with regular fee till July 31 and with late fee till September 15, 2015. For Stream 1, Block 2, registration for the October examinations are now open till June 30 and till July 20, 2015, with a late fee.

For Stream 2, admissions are on till June 30, 2015 with regular fee and till July 20, 2015, with late fee. Examinations for Stream 2 will be conducted in October – November 2015. On-demand examinations are also open for Stream 3 and 4 courses.

NIOS is an open schooling system, which provides an opportunity to school dropouts to complete their education up to Class 12. It is especially convenient for students in rural areas as there is no need to travel for miles. They can continue their studies while being at home. Anyone above the age of 14 years can get admission under NIOS courses. Till date, 5529 candidates have successfully registered for courses NIOS through CSC-NIOS facilitation centres.
