
The VLE Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) project has been extended for a year. VLEs from all over India can now avail of the free CCC certification, being provided through the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT).
Started in 2010, the 80-hour course proposes to train 100,000 CSC operators/ VLEs on basic concepts of computer and computer-based services and practices. The training will further equip the VLEs to promote IT skills among the community they serve. The project was restarted in 2013 and has now been extended till March 2016.
VLEs who wish to take the CCC examination can register at http://apna.csc.gov.in/. Information about admit cards, examination date/centre and results is sent through e-mail/SMS as and when the examinations are scheduled and results declared.
Benefits to the VLES’s
- NIELIT CCC Examination Fee of Rs. 360/- has been waved off for the VLEs.
- They are given Rs. 340 for appearing in the examination. Out of which Rs. 100 is the travel reimbursement and up to Rs. 240 is given as per the grade of the VLE. For example, an ‘S’ grade VLE will get Rs. 240, ‘A’ grade VLE (Rs. 200), ‘B’ grade VLE (Rs. 150), ‘C’ grade VLE (Rs. 100) and ‘D’ grade VLE (Rs. 50).
- The VLE also becomes eligible to participate in the digital literacy projects being implemented by CSC SPV and can apply for NIELIT’s Accreditation Centre.
