 Registrations start under the Cyber Gram Yojana project in West Bengal

Off line student registration has been done for over 5000 students and over 100 students have been registered on the CSC Academy portal till date.

VLEs from West Bengal have started registering students on CSC Academy under the Cyber Gram Yojana project. Off line student registration has been done for over 5000 students and over 100 students have been registered on the CSC Academy portal till date. Registrations in 94 Madarsas is all set to start from 22nd December, 2014. The training is expected to start from January 2015.

West Bengal is the first state to start the implementation of the project. Though the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt of India, had approved the project for 244 registered Madarsas in the state, however, the State Government of West Bengal has decided to cover all 614 registered Madarsas. There are 1081 VLEs associated with these Madarsas so far, but the number is increasing with the implementation of the project at the field level.

The ‘Cyber Gram Yojana’ project under the Multi-Sectoral Development Program (MsDP), Ministry of Minority Affairs, was inaugurated last month in Kolkata, West Bengal. It aims to provide IT Training for students from Class VI - X of Minority communities spread across the country, wherein Minority students in Madarsas/ others will be trained.
