 E-Inclusion project reaches out to 53,792 SC/ST/women beneficiaries in 15 States

As many as 53,792 SC, ST and women beneficiaries have been trained in basic ICT skills under the E-Inclusion: IT Training for Rural SC/ST/Women beneficiaries in the states of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Odisha, West Bengal, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

A total of 1,211 CSCs were identified from the states to participate in the three projects. These CSCs, in turn, identified a total of 59,612 SC/ ST/ women beneficiaries in consultation with the local Panchayat representatives, out of which, 53,792 beneficiaries were registered and approved on the Learning Management System. Of this, a total of 48,564 beneficiaries have appeared for the BCC examination conducted by NIELIT.

The primary objective of this project was to provide hands-on training in computers for targeted SC, ST and women beneficiaries, to enable them to acquire basic ICT skills that empower them to:

  • Become digitally literate
  • Actively participate in knowledge based activities
  • Access financial, social and government services, and
  • Use Internet for communications
