More than 22,000 VLEs have registered so far for the Free VLE CCC Examination by NIELIT. DeitY had approved the Course on Computer Education for VLEs in rural India through NIELIT to train and empower VLEs. More VLEs are encouraged to register for the VLE CCC Examination so as to get the following benefits:

• Waiver of Rs 360 examination fee
• Incentives up to Rs. 340
• Eligible to apply for NIELIT’s facilitation centre
• Participate in National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) and Cyber Gram Yojana projects, once CCC qualified

It is mandatory for all VLEs to take the Free VLE CCC Examination conducted by NIELIT. Those VLEs who have not yet registered for the examination need to register immediately without any further delay.

Key features of the project include:

• The training is in e-Learning mode at respective CSCs using NIELIT’s CCC self-learning e-Content.
• The e-Content is available in 22 official Indian languages.
