 CSCs young entrepreneur spreading digital literacy in remote tribal villages

Prashanth Konda is a young, versatile VLE from Ichoda mandal of Adilabad district in Telangana. A graduate, he has always been motivated to help citizens with various e-governance and utility services.

Through CSC, he is delivering, passport, PAN card, Insurance, Apna Dhan, SBI kiosk banking, Aadhaar, mKisan and NDLM services. As a Banking Correspondent, he has opened 8,235 Jan Dhan Yojana accounts, apart from enrolling 1,200 citizens in other social security schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY.

He has been doing NDLM training very vigorously in his area and spreading digital literacy in the remote tribal villages of Ichoda mandal. So far, he has registered 2,202 candidates, trained 1,600 and certified 582. He have been conducting special drives in Yapalguda, Malyal, Talamadri, Sirikonda, Neradigonda G, Chinnagodumala, Narsapur, Kokasmannur, Junni, Gandhinagar, and Mukhra K areas.

In Mukhra village, he has enrolled one member each from every household under NDLM and is providing digital literacy training to 160 citizens. He has also created 2,300 Digital Lockers for CSC beneficiaries. HE has also enrolled all the farmers of Mukhra village for mKisan service to receive SMS alerts on weather and crop information.

Recently, he has also set up an Intel Unnati Kendra at his CSC and he has sold an assembled PC, a laptop and two Intel Compute Sticks (mini PCs).
