 Telemedicine reaches remote corners of the country through CSCs

A 30 yrs old female came to Mr. Kaleem Khan’s CSC - complained of breathlessness, bilateral limbs pain and general lethargy. She was also worried about the excessive 10 kg weight gain she had for last 6 months. She, one day, consulted ATHS physician through telemedicine. On detailed talk with the lady it was discovered she also had complains of excessive hair loss, irritability altered menstrual cycle. The physician recognised the symptom cluster and she was asked to go for thyroid profile check. The lab report showed the lady was suffering from hypothyroidism. She was advised treatment and counselled on the need of medication to be taken for life long. On subsequent review, the lady showed marked improvement on the symptoms and was happy.

A 32 yrs old female complaining of bilateral limbs pain, irritability and weakness came to Mr Sumon Roy’s CSC. Gives history of recurrent worm infestations treated several times. On tele-consultation, she looked like a case of anaemia and the lab investigation seconded it. She was started on iron tablets. She showed marked improvement in her symptoms during follow up.
