 PMGDISHA campaigns held at Bellari

Bellari district of Karnataka has been very actively promoting PradhanMantriGramin Digital SakshartaAbhiyan across the district. Most of the events held in the district has seen a huge participation and all the efforts of village-level entrepreneurs has helped the district and the villages to transform the place to a digital district.

In order to accommodate more villagers and make them digitally literate, a new centre was inaugurated at Kallahalli in Hosapette, Bennakallu gram panchayat in HB Halli and Shivapura in Kudligi. More than 100 villagers including the beneficiaries participated during the inauguration. Moreover, the village-level entrepreneurs from the neighbouring gram panchayats also participated for the inauguration of the new centre. The citizens have shown great interest in getting enrolled under the programme.

After completion of training programme certificates were also distributed during various held in the district. VLEs, Panchayat officials, CSC officials have been participating and distributing the course completion certificates to the beneficiaries during the various events held in the district.



 


 Impact stories under Investor Awareness Project (IAP)

CSC SPV in collaboration with Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has implemented the IAP project to improve the financial knowledge and investment aspects for the rural citizens in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Sikkim. The often neglected poor from rural India require awareness on savings and investment, which provides them an opportunity to safeguard their hard earned money. Through the project the rural citizens are acquainted to various concepts of savings and investments. The project also enables them to know about various polices and schemes which are available in the market. This program is conceived to educate the prospective rural investor so that he/she gets to know the benefit of saving, investment and capital formation/ accumulation and provide awareness to not lose their money in Ponzi Schemes.

So far, 25627 IAP sessions have been held through CSCs where 1217523 rural citizens have been trained.

Village: Sedam
Shankar is a resident of Sedam village in District- Gulbarga, State – Karnataka. He runs a Kirana store at his village. One day VLE Naveen told him about the Investor Awareness Program and advised him to attend the session at his centre. Shankar shared that earlier he didn’t know anything about saving and preparing budget but after attending the session he has understood the process of preparing the budget and how to save money for his family. Shankar is thankful to CSC and Government of India for conducting such kind of awareness program in rural areas.

Zakir Khan is an Iron Worker from Madiya village of Gulbarga district - Karnataka. He got to know about the IAP session through VLE Saharanbasappa. Earlier he had no knowledge about creating budget and savings. Mr Zakir shared that every time he used to fall short of money and had to borrow money from friends and relative. After attending the IAP sessions he now knows how to manage earning smartly and save money for difficult times. He is very thankful to VLE and Govt. of India for organising the session.
