  CSCs Run by Women VLEs

Women VLEs play a very significant role in today’s CSC movement. The women empowerment initiative of the CSC E-Governance Services India Limited well supported by the present Government paved the way for the women participation in Digital India movement.

As on 31 October, 2019, there are in total 37,502 functional CSCs (urban + rural) set up and run by the Women VLEs across the country, of which 27,380 Women-run CSCs are at Gram Panchayat level.

There were only 8,935 functional CSCs as on 31 May, 2014, which were run by Women VLEs across the Country.

During the last 5 years and 6 months, there has been an increase of 28,209 functional CSCs of Women VLEs over that of 31 May, 2014. From a small band of 8,935 women-run CSCs in May, 2014, the strength has risen to 37,502 at the close of October, 2019.






 


  154 people got enrolled under PMSYM in a single day at Kodangal, Telangana

154 people got enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PMSYM) in a single day at Kodangal, Vikarabad District, Telangana. Government of India has introduced a pension scheme for unorganised workers namely Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) on 15 February, 2019 to ensure old age protection for Unorganised Workers. The unorganised workers mostly engaged as home based workers, street vendors, mid-day meal workers, head loaders, brick kiln workers, cobblers, rag pickers, domestic workers, washer men, rickshaw pullers, landless labourers, own account workers, agricultural workers, construction workers, beedi workers, handloom workers, leather workers, audio- visual workers and similar other occupations whose monthly income is Rs 15,000/ per month or less and belong to the entry age group of 18-40 years.
