  Woman VLE Seema Sudheer empowering villagers of Vadama Gram Panchayat, Thrissur

Seema Sudheer is a VLE from Vadama Gram Panchayat, Thrissur district. She is a Diploma holder in Printing Technology. She started her CSC in 2004. All G2C services are being provided to the rural people in her village through her CSC. Her CSC is also well known in the area for its Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre. During the Digi Dhan Abhiyan, VLE Seema was instrumental in converting the first college in the country to become completely cashless. She had received an award from Hon’ Member of Parliament Shri Richard Hay for her initiative. She was also felicitated by Hon’ Minister for Electronics & IT Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad during his visit to the State.

For daily wagers, losing even a day’s salary is a big deal. There was a time when people from villages had to travel to the city and wait in long queues for hours, all in the hope of getting a domicile certificate (or any other government authorised certificate), and in the process forgo earnings for a day or even more. At times, they even had to pay middlemen hefty commissions just to get the paperwork done.

  VLE Gursewak provides skill training to marginalized communities in Bathinda, Punjab

Gursewak Singh belongs to a middle class family. He has done BA and LLB. Gursewak started CSC in March 2017 at Bathinda. Gursewak is actively involved in Insurance, BHIM, BCC and Telemedicine. He has provided skill training in Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) course to 100 candidates. The VLE had recently organized a certificate distribution ceremony for PMGDISHA candidates in the august presence of Union Minister Ms. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, where 500 candidates were awarded certificates.

Gursewak says, “I feel great satisfaction on seeing happiness on the face of the illiterate, poor and senior citizens who come to my CSC. CSC is such a great platform by which one can earn money and love both.”

The VLE is working very hard to achieve the goals of Digital India programme in Bhatinda through providing various digital services to citizens in all the villages of his district. Through his CSC, he also assists poor women in getting self-employment. Gursewak says, “Being a VLE, I wish to be recognized as one of the brand ambassadors of CSC and for this I want to put my efforts at the level best with the help of CSC.”


  Success story of VLE Paramjit Singh, Gurdaspur, Punjab

Paramjit is a graduate in Physical Education from Gurdaspur district, Punjab. Paramjit has been working with CSC from August 2010. Paramjit says, “Running the CSC center has made me very strong - morally, socially and financially.” At present, the VLE is providing services like Rural BPO, PMGDISHA training and skill training under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Paramjit started his center with a very small set-up. He soon realized the opportunity to grow socially and financially with the CSC platform and started focusing on providing maximum number of services through his CSC. Paramjit says, “Now the situation is that I am earning more than I expected and have a big work place with more service delivery counters in it.” Paramjit has given employment to more than 28 people, including 18 women at his CSC. The VLE has developed very good infrastructure at his CSC. At his 14 sq foot CSC, there are 40 computers, 2 photocopiers, Generator, 10 service counters, etc.

Paramjit says, “Each and every government service should be added to the CSC platform and we should get the opportunity to deliver those services through our CSC centres.”
