Shahista’s journey: Sahista introduces herself as Mrs. Shubhangi alias Shahista Yusuf Shaikh, she operates her CSC Centre as VLE at Rajgurunagar, Tahaseil –Khed, in the Pune district of Maharashtra. She is physically challenged since birth as she had only one leg since birth. She proudly says she is Hindu & her husband is Muslim and had to face religious and social biases. She faced all these atrocities with courage and determination and has been successfully operating her CSC for the last 5 in Rajgurunagar.
Ask her how she came to know about the CSC scheme she says In 2012 she came to know of the opportunity through Maha e Seva Kendra and her husband asked her whether she would be able do it because at that time their son was newborn baby and aged 4 months. But looking at the opportunity to create a new identity as an entrepreneur she was in favour of doing it. It was a time when they were struggling financially. Soon her mother and her husband supported me to do it. Her mother said "You look into VLE business, and I will handle your baby at home" . Her husband always trusted on her intelligence and said that don’t feel handicapped use your brain and I’m your body.
