  Villagers appreciated opening of CSC during PM's interaction

On 18th July, Hon’ Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana- Saubhagya scheme across the country, via NAMO app. The Saubhagya scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on September 25, 2017.

During Direct Samwad with Hon’ Prime Minister, villagers appreciated opening of CSC in their Gram Panchayats.

“During Diwali in 2016 we got electricity. It felt like a double celebration. Before electrification, I had no employment but now I got a job as a Bank Mitra at a CSC in my own village”, Ram Chandra Singh Bist, from Tehri Garhwal told Hon’ PM.

For people in Jharkhand, the opening of CSC centres in their villages brought ray of hope. Villagers also told Hon’ PM that their village and home have got electricity in 2016. This changed their lives forever.

“One of the priorities for us is the development of Eastern India. About 14,500 villages out of 18,000 villages not electrified were in Eastern India. We have changed that. Eastern India can play an even bigger role in India's development journey, said Hon’ PM Modi during interaction.

Under Saubhagya scheme, free electricity connections to all households (both APL and poor families) will be provided in rural areas and poor families in urban areas.

“Children from our village had never seen what electricity is. Now we have access to so many facilities”, Lalita Nayak, Narayan Nayak from Rayagada in Odisha told Hon’ PM.

“Our village, Roro in West Singhbhum District was not very well connected. We had to complete all our work before sunset, all that has been changed as we have got electricity now. Now, we also have access to water supply”, People from Roro told Hon’ PM.

Hon' PM Narendra Modi interacted with people from Leisang village in Manipur, which was the last among the 18,000 villages to be electrified. Anita Devi from Palamu in Jharkhand told Hon' PM that her village and home have got electricity in 2016. This changed her life forever.

We had to go very far for work such as photocopying. Now, electricity has enhanced convenience. Now, we also pay our bill online, people from Sonitpur district in Assam told Hon' PM Narendra Modi.

 50 lakh citizens watched “Direct Samwad” of Hon’ PM through CSCs across the country

The live interaction of Hon’ Prime Minister through CSCs set a series record of 5 million viewers tuning in to the live broadcast. All 3 lakh CSC centres across the country screened the program. VLEs in various parts of the country made special arrangements to live telecast the program at their CSC centres. Around 30-40 people gathered at each CSC centres to watch the live telecast of the interaction through NaMo App on the occasion. Villagers at these CSC centres converged in large numbers to watch the Hon’ PM’s interaction.
