The State of Andhra Pradesh has already pioneered in rural ICT based kiosks through its ‘Rajiv Internet Village Project’ (RAJIV) and Rural Service Delivery Points (RSDP) with an aim to provide services to its rural citizens ahead of the CSC Scheme. After introduction of the CSC Scheme by the Government of India with similar objective and vision, the State Government decided to integrate the existing kiosks under the CSC framework by developing an appropriate model meeting the State’s needs and ongoing initiatives.
In August 2008, the State Government invited private entities to set up 4687 CSCs across the State. However, after integration with the existing kiosks, total CSCs planned to be rolled out in the State is 5452. Private entities (Service Centre Agency/SCA) such as - CMS Computers, TIMES and AP Online have set up 2,187 CSCs by April 2011.

The State Government has developed a single point entry portal AP Online ( for Andhra Pradesh for providing government information and transaction services online to both citizens and businesses. The SCAs are in the process of delivering services through the CSCs by tying up with the AP Online. Services like Online Utility Bill Payment, Agricultural Market prices, issuance of certificates, birth registration, property registration, grievance redresses, etc are to be offered through the CSCs. In addition, services like, NREGA job card, data entry/ MIS of Rural Development Department, Soil testing of Agricultural Department are in the process of delivering through the CSCs.
Similarly, various private services (B2C) are being provided through the CSCs, like ticket booking (air, railway and bus), LIC insurance policies, sales agent of BSNL, Airtel, Media Advertisement, Computer learning, etc.

Vijayakumar is one of the successful VLEs from Andhra Pradesh. He has been providing various G2C Services through his CSC. He has provided higher number of G2C services among all the VLEs. Hence, he has been awarded ‘Best VLE of the Year 2012’ by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
